What is Title 1? 

     Title 1 is a program that provides extra instructional help for students who struggle in reading or math.  The student is assessed to determine both their strengths and weaknesses.  An individualized learning plan is developed with input from classroom teachers, the Title 1 teacher and parents.  Students begin receiving extra instruction that helps them achieve and maintain the goals that were set in the individual learning plan.  The program is assessed regularly in order to assure each student's success.
