This course is designed to introduce the concepts of physical science, especially matter and energy and their interactions. Some of the major units that will be addressed include: motion, machines, energy, alternative energy forms, classification of matter, interactions within matter, chemical reactions & equations, and acids & bases. Throughout each of these units, the students will begin to make connections between the different topics of science, and develop an understanding of the interdisciplinary aspects in the field of science. In addition, the topics will be related to the students’ lives directly through discussion of technological advances and issues concerning today’s society.
